School Update - Youngest Son

First, Youngest Son is no longer the Angel in his school holiday play. He is now the ... DEVIL. Bada Bing. No really, he is. More fitting actually. The big question in our minds is why is there a devil role in the holiday play at Christmas? We anxiously await the big reveal on 12/15.

We do have angelic news on Youngest Son. He has received great academic accolades this week for Kinder3. His report cards for Spanish and English have all 10s (possible grades are 7,8,9 or 10). He also got two 1st Place Diplomas: in English AND in SPANISH! We are quite proud as you can tell. Blatant parent pride shows itself once again.

The last piece of news on Youngest Son is that his skin fungus is now getting better since getting anti-fungal cream from doctor. I will spare you the details of exact body location ...

Wow - that is amazing! Our Kinder 3s don't get tested as far as I know.

I don't recall a devil in any pageants when I was growing up!

You know, that Mexican Devil is a baaaaad dude. I hope eldest son has fun with the role.

As for youngest, WOOHOO! Genes at play, I believe. The kid is smart. And I don't just say that because he's related to me. :)

The Devil always plays a prominent role in the Mexican pre-Christmas "pastorelas". Also, in many manger scenes you will find the figure of a devil behind a tree or lurking in the shadows. This is to remind us that the Devil is always around and that he was probably present at both the birth and death of Christ. Saint Paul tells us that the Devil roams the Earth like a roaring Lion seeking those whom he would devour. Jesus is quoted as saying to the Devil "Get thee behind me Satan, you are a stumbling block to me" and Saint Michael the Archangel is quoted as saying to the Devil, "The Lord rebuke thee". I use these quotes all the time to remind the Devil that I am on to him :)

V - Well we were quite surprised because we did not know there were any report cards or diplomas for him either.

FD - But whose genes since two gene pools at hand?

BM - You rock! Thanks for the info - I may have to copy into my blog once we actually see the play to tell about it!

Wow, congrats to Youngest Son, I think it's great that he's embracing the experiencing and taking off with his Spanish! Max has exams every month, and he's only Kinder 1, they start'em young here.

Looking forward to Devil pics of the pastorela!
