Husband, Oldest Son and Youngest Son spent 4 HOURS at Immigration this morning.
The reward was their FM3s. Now we do not have to worry about taking them across the border every 6 months to renew the FMTs.
A Mexican Milestone Accomplished. No small feat.

Congratulations! Wow,what a pain. It's so funny how the same transaction will be so different from place to place isn't it?

AM,
Congratulations! What a great feeling, eh? I know it well. I have been going to León for my FM3 and then FM2 for ten years and it is never the same. I always did it on my own. Some years I did it in two trips but other years took as many as eight. My wife Gina and I got married last May and that took more trips. I am soon going to apply for my permanent residency and that may take a couple or three trips but that will be the end of it. After that I won't have to go every year anymore. I am very happy for you and your family. That is indeed a milestone.
Congrats, that's a big feat! I know things are much worse here in Cancun, but it's bad all over fighting the red tape. I think the most trips I ever made was just about 20. After that experience I vowed to never do it without a lawyer again. Enjoy the peace of mind!
T, B & C - I know you guys KNOW our pain and gain!
Congratulations!!!
Mexico Mommy- Seems like a lot of work for a 1 year stay or are you staying longer?
Our issue is that we have 3 family members and a car that are not going back to USA. Because we are actually here slight over 1 year then Husband, 2 kids and car would have to cross border twice to renew 180 day FMT. When we ran the numbers, it was actually better to get the FM3s. Crazy. I know.
Or... You could stay longer!
Congrats.Looking forward to getting mine. We doped off Alanas stuff to get her Mexican birth cirt so she will be totally legal soon also.
Yes, I understand the numbers and the cost. but I was hoping you were planning to stay longer!
