Kids' School: Area where all students wash their own dishes after lunch.
.
Wonder how our Fancy Private School in USA would view this approach?
.
I think it is efficient and simple while teaching responsibility and useful household skills!
We MOVED to the Pacific Coast of Mexico for 1 year with young children from July 2008 to July 2009. We went back for 5 weeks in Summer 2010. This Blog will document this adventure ...

Very cool - the sooner our children get a handle on the realities of life - the better ;-)
I like the idea. But you can bet there is some federal or state law against it.
my kids did this at their Montessori school in Oregon when we lived there. I loved it. And they were 2-6 year oldsusing glass plates and cups and were responsible for prep and cleaning of their own food and cleaning around the school as well. My kids loved it. They felt involved and grown up and they are habits that continue much (although not all the time) to this day.
C - I so agree
SC - Sigh - you are probably right
RCT - I am actually glad to hear there are schools in USA who do this - even more so with glass ware! I winder how many break? They do use plastic here.
I'm pretty sure 1/2 the moms at our "fancy" private school would pitch a fit!
Geez...great idea! At my school in Guyamas it would have gone over like a lead balloon. Not only did they use paper plates, plastic cups and plastic utilsils, but the TEACHERS had to SERVE the students!!! Yep. The little students all took a seat at their little tables and waited for their lunch. HMPFF!
TL - LOL - I believe you are correct!
CJ - Interesting to hear about this differences within MX. Good to note that broad statements seldom apply to all.
